Alaska Trip

As this is a long overdue post, it's going to be a LONG photo post! Enjoy.

We decided to go on a long trip b4 he had to go overseas for course so Alaskan was finally decided on.
We flew via China Airlines and landed at Vancouver Airport on the 29th of May.

We landed quite late that night so after showering and a quick bite it was bedtime. could hardly sleep cos we kinda slept most of the way from taipei. (bad move)
The 2nd morning was spent having a half day city tour of Vancouver city.

Boarded the boat @ abt 1130 in the morning. it was still early so there wasn't along queue. As our rooms weren't going to ready till 130pm we had a free buffet lunch catered for us on board.

After checking in we roamed around the boat a little to check out what there was on board. they had an outdoor pool deck as well as a jacuzzi/whirlpool in a sheltered area. Throughout the trip i dun think i saw anyone in the outdoor pool. It was way too cold when we were in the waters.

There was nothing much to do in the first day but to explore the ship and go through the booklets they had in the room to let us know what was the activities that were going on about the ship. They had spas (not cheap), shopping on board, and every night they had different performance every nite. There was also cinema, a gorgeous gym and loads and loads of food. For the main meals you had like 2 choices as to where to go eat, the main dinning hall where they serve you means in a course like manner,or the deck where it's like buffet style. There was also a fine dinner restaurant, but that you had to pay extra to eat there. i'll try to find some nice pics of food and post. haha..

The second day after we boarded it was just cruising at sea, so we went for like health talks, went to the gym, the casino, and watched some of the games that they had ard the ship. There was a formal nite the first nite, and just before that we went for the "free" professional studio shoot. The photography was free, but to buy the pictures from them was expensive!!

Formal dinner was very nice, kinda like fine dinning and everyone had to dress up. the guys in suits (kenny rented a tux) and girls in gowns and dresses and stuff.

After the formal dinner also marked us leaving Canadian waters into US waters. Apparently they have to have a pilot boat to escort us out of the Canadian waters. It was kinda cute having the pilot boat circling the cruise ship.

The next day was our first port of call Ketchikan. Before we got off the ship to visit the very small town, they gave us a booklet highlighting all the different shops there were as well as certain freebies there were to go along with the various shops. Since there wasn't much sightseeing to be done, we only went bargain hunting. One thing that was common for all the ports of calls was jewellery. It seem that the diamonds and other precious gems were much cheaper there and alot of ppl were buying.

There was also a location in the small town that had a natural water ladder where the salmons will swim once a year t spawn. Too bad we were there a little early and din see any action.

The second port of call was the capital of the state of Alasaka - Juneau. There is nothing much in this little town, but this was the first Glacier that we came about. The Mendenhall Valley. The view of the glacier was amazing, the turquoise colour the white, and the grandeur of it. Pictures somehow dont do the view any justice. haha..

One cute thing that we did see was a porcupine! hahah

We also visited a Salmon Hatchery, this was where they had a sanctuary for salmons and they reared that hatchlings until they were about 8 inches long (to increase their chance of survival) before they are released to the sea. it also told us about the salmon's life cycle.

There was this cute bear in the hatchery that we just had to take a photo with.

The 3rd port of call was a place call Skagway. This place actually is really close to the canadian borders (in fact we were told that we had to take our passports off the bus cos we had to "pass thru immigration" more like just driving through. It used to be an old gold mining community. You could see the old railroads that the miners did. There weren't alot of people in this community but there was alot of waterfalls along the way. We even saw mountain goats grazing using binoculars. This place was about 4500ft above sea level.

As tourist we just had to take photos with the signs that said welcome to alaska! ahaha

The town of skagway din have alot of things to see, just the usual shops where we collected freebies. The one interesting thing that happened was that I actually bumped into a fren of my sister's at Skagway. We walked into an internet cafe wanting to send smses to our family. (phone had absolutely no signal throughout alaska) and we saw this singaporean boy and just chatted with him. He said he was on "work and play" and was from NUS Archi 3yr student. So i just said that my sister was in archi too and ask if he knew her apparently he did and did see a resemblance. This was basically like a flying fox where they had to take a 40min bus ride to an elevation of about 1200ft and then Zip down (60sec) 3 of the guys in our group including kenny went for it.

There was also a wishing fire where they gave you a piece of woodchip that you throw into a fire and the natives believe you'd be blessed with the wishes that you made. It started to drizzle as we were leaving the small port of call. and because the liner was part offshore we had a photo opp with the whole liner.

That day we had the second formal dining in. It was a rocky start as we were in open waters so the boat was rocking quite abit and I kind felt sea-sick and din eat too much. The highlight of the second dinning in was the Baked Alaskan dessert. VERY TASTY. There was also a supper gala that night, with Ice Carvings and Sculptures made from food. Very pretty but cos we had too much to eat at dinner, I din manage to eat anything just took pictures.

The next day after that was again spent on the boat, we travelled to Hubber Glacier, the suposed highlight of the whole trip. It was basically the closest you'd come to a Glacier and since it was an active Glacier you could see the caving (collapsing of the Glacier). We were hovering ard the Glacier for about 2-3 hours and we spend the first hour or so taking photos from the balcony of the room, where could keep running in to stay warm. but we did finally go outside to take photos.

Outdoor Shots

They had various sizes of icebergs that broke off from the main glacier some were huge and others not so big.

After the Hubber Glacier day at sea it came to the end of the cruise and almost the end of our Alaskan trip. We disembarked at Seward and did a short tour around the area visiting another Glacier. Each Glacier was different in the way it was formed and how it look, but they were all just so beautiful.

Some other more random stuff were the people that we met on the cruise, most of them were much older and they were really nice to us, treating us like their kids telling us their experience and the one thing that we kept being asked was when we were going to get married.

One interesting couple that we met was a Raymond and Muiheng, it turns out that they have a 18yr daughter with the exact same chinese name as me. He saw some ammunition rounds being sold at one of the shops and he was commenting how when he was on duty it was something that he had to count and make sure that everything was accounted for! hee.. and the ammunition that were sold are all loaded!

I took alot of photos of flowers. it was just so beautiful!

It was difficult to take a bad picture, i've put some shots taken from a moving vehicle..

It was a nice trip, recharging, cos there was no interuption from phones or sms. The place was so laid back, infact there were people around beacuse there were cruise ships ard. if not most of these places have very few inhabitants.

I would recommend the cruise for people who really want to relax and take a week off. It is worth it. Not cheap but worth it..

You entered: TAN YING JIE
There are 10 letters in your name.
Those 10 letters total to 51
There are 4 vowels and 6 consonants in your name.

Your number is: 6

The characteristics of #6 are: Responsibility, protection, nurturing, community, balance, sympathy.

The expression or destiny for #6:
The number 6 Expression provides you a truly outstanding sense of responsibility, love, and balance. The 6 is helpful and ever conscientious, making you quite capable of rectifying and balancing any sort of inharmonious situation. You are a person very much inclined to give help and comfort to those in need. You have a natural penchant for working with the old, the young, the sick, or the underprivileged. Although you may have considerable creative and artistic talents, the chances are that you will devote yourself to an occupation that shows concern for the betterment of the community.

The positive side of the number 6 suggests that you are very loving, friendly, and appreciative of others. You have a depth of understanding that produces much sympathetic, kindness, and generosity. The qualities of the 6 make the finest and most concerned parent and one often deeply involved in domestic activities. Openness and honesty is apparent in your approach to all relationships.

If there is an excess of the number 6 in your makeup, you may exhibit some of the negative traits associated with this number. There may be a tendency for you to be too exacting and demanding of yourself. In this regard, you may at times sacrifice yourself (or your loved ones) for the welfare of others. In some cases, the over zealous 6 has difficulty distinguishing helping from interfering. You may have difficulty expressing your own individuality, because of involvement with responsibilities and causes. Like all with the Expression of the number 6, it's quite likely that you worry much too much.

Your Soul Urge number is: 6

A Soul Urge number of 6 means:
With a number 6 Soul Urge, you would like to be appreciated for your ability to handle responsibility. Your home and family are likely to be a strong focus for you, perhaps the strongest focus of your life. Friendship, love, and affection are high on your list of priorities for a happy life. You have a lot of diplomatic tendencies in your makeup, as you a able to rectify and balance situations with an innate skill. You like working with people rather than by yourself. It is extremely important for you to have harmony in your environment at all times.

The positive side of the 6 Soul Urge produces a huge capacity for responsibility; you are always there and ready to assume more than your share of the load. If you possess positive 6 Soul Urges and express them, you are known for your generosity, understanding and deep sympathetic attitude. Strong 6 energy is very giving of love, affection, and emotional support. You may have the inclination to teach or serve your community in other idealistic ways. You have natural abilities to help people. You are also likely to have artistic and creative leanings.

If you have an over-supply of 6 energy in your makeup, you may express some of the negative traits common to this number. With such a strong sympathetic attitude, it is easy to become too emotional. Sometimes the desires to render help can be over done, and it can become interfering and an attitude that is too protective, rather than helpful. The person with too much 6 energy often finds that people tend to take advantage of this very giving spirit. You may tend to repress your own needs so that you can cater to the demands from others. At times, there may be a tendency in this, for becoming over-loaded with such demands, and as a result become resentful.

Your Inner Dream number is: 9

An Inner Dream number of 9 means:
You dream of being creative, intellectual, and universal; the selfless humanitarian. You understand the needy and what to help them. You would love to be a person people count on for support and advice.

Want to learn about your birthday? Click here!

December as usual is a time for merry and joy, and it has always been my favourite time of the year with Christmas and my birthday at the end of it, it was certainly something to look forward to.

This year was the mark of my quarter of a century birthday! hahah.. some celebrations with different bunch of people so I'm just going to let the photos do the talking!

Celebration 1
We had a company "Christmas" Celebration during lunch time on the 19th Dec and my colleagues were sweet enough to buy me a cake and sang me a birthday song.

Celebration 2
The first part of the evening was spent at Mahattan Fish Market at Central. The food was okie but the company was Great! We couldn't resist that last shot of us on the cute bubble chairs that they had in the atrium area at Central.

We then adjourned to Settlers to play games, it was full of fun and laughter and I cant believe we were there for 4 hours! Thanks to Darren our persron game host for the evening. He works at settlers on weekend but although he wasn't working that wednesday he travelled all the way down just to keep us company for games and because of him we had free food at the end of the evening.

Celebration 3
My Actual birthday coincided with Mr Allen's 25th Anniversary of arriving in Singapore! So he treated me and Zynn's family and some other of his staff to a nice lunch at the Top of the M!

Dinner was just the 2 of us at this restaurant at Camden Medical Center. Think it was called white Bait or something.

Celebration 4
This was a family thing and me and baby treated my family to a wonderful but very expensive lunch at "My Humble House" @ Esplanade. We had a nice corner table and cos baby knows the Captain there and told him that it was a celebration, they had rose petals laid all over the table! Very nice. Desserts were divined and came in such a pretty presentation that made it all the more lovely to eat!

Celebration 5 - Christmas time
My lovely cousin invited me and my boy to his celebration at the Ritz Carlton where he and his frens had a room there.
Cambodia Trip

This is a photo blog entry of my trip to Cambodia in Dec 2007. (It's going to be a LONG entry)

We decided the fly Silk Air as there was a promotion for the airticket but then we realised why the tickets were relatively cheaper as compared to the budget airlines. (There was a stop over in Danang, Vietnam. making a 2.5hr flight into a 4hr one.)

Overall the flight was pleasant, had the chance to speak to a Nigerian doctor on the way there. =)

Us infront of the plane after we Landed

The Airport Terminal

I was impressed by the simplicity and beauty of the Siem Reap International airport. It was very clean and very modern. The immigration counters had cameras to take picture of every incoming visitor (Kinda like the US immigration). This was something even the Singapore Customs does not have.

Our Transport for the whole trip was a Tuk Tuk. It was relatively easy to get ard the Siem Reap area by tuk-tuk cost was about USD10 per day. The tuk tuk drive spoke english and although we din have a proper guide he kinda served as a guide (just not in details). One of the good things abt our particular tuk-tuk was that it was Purple in colour (colour theme for the villa) and this made it easier for us to spot out tuk tuk from a sea of Red coloured tuktuks in the crowded temple grounds.

Our Tuk-tuk

Our Hotel was a simple one that we found off Asia Rooms, abt USD 30/nite incld a simple toast and coffee breakfast, called "The Villa Siem Reap". There are alot of small boutique hotels and the alot of the people there speak decent english so it was easy to get directions. Food was nice, we mainly chose the "local khmer" restaurants. Price was rather cheap typically a meal for 2pax would set u back about USD8-10 inclusive of drinks and food.

The first nite that we were there, as it was already rather late we din do much sightseeing other than to walk ard the town area. The most vibrant of streets was what they called Pubstreet. It kinda looked like clarke quay in Singapore and they even had a Night market. Did some shopping there but only realised how much additional I paid for stuff in the nite market compared to the Old Market where we went shopping on the second last day.

Pub Street at night

Bar at the Night Market

The Next morning we woke up bright and early to go watch the Sunrise. It was well worth the 430am Wakeup call and travelling in pitch darkness and cold to Angkor Wat to wait for the sunrise. We picked a spot in front of a pond to watch the sunrise and it was well magnificent.
I have like probably 100 over photos of different degrees of brightness of the sunrise, if you'd like to see perhaps you can just ask me personally for it.

Photos of Angkor Wat at sunrise - For the last photo of that series I had a hard time differentiating which was the reflection

According to our tuk tuk driver if you visit the Angkor Wat in April (their hottest month) you'd be able to see the sun rise directly behind Angkor Wat. For us seeing the sun rise from the side of it was good enough for us.

We went inside the Temple Ruins to do a quick run thru before heading back to the hotel for breakfast. All the walkways were built in like parallel lines such that when you stood in one walkway you'd be able to see straight through to the other side!

After breakfast we head back out to the temple area. Forgot to mention earlier that there was an entry fee to enter the temple area (Free for the Cambodians) Cost was USD20 per day pass, USD 40 for a 3 day pass and USD 60 for a 7 day pass. 3 days is about sufficient to cover most of the temple ruins, definately not all and not in detail, but after sometime the temple ruins start to look the same.

The were mainly 2 religion in Cambodia, Hinduism, and Buddhism. So the temples were a reflection of it. The carvings were intricate but alot of it are kinda weathered away. The cambodian government together with international bodies are trying to restor alot of these carvings but somehow the mix of new and old just made things look abit weird.

Bayon style temple-the only one that I could tell apart since it was characterised by a roof with 4 human like features on the roof

Intricate carvings-what u can see in the last picture is the grey plaster that they used to restore the original carvings quite obvious.

Most of the temples require us to climb rather steep slope with inclination of steps of less than 40degrees, it was almost like climbing a ladder. Making it difficult to come down, as the steps are just about as wide as the width of our feet. But the climb to the top sometimes gave us a lovely view of the countryside.

Steep stairs

View from the top of one of the Temple Ruins

There were also some ruins that were being destroyed by nature! more specifically by trees. Some of the Strangling figs grow from the temples causing stress to the temple walls and some of the temple walls have already crumbled from the weight of the trees. Wooden structure/frames are being added to try to support the structure from within. But the trees gave the temple a different feel.

Trees Crumbling the temple-The last picture shows me standing on the temple ground crumbled by the tress.

Watching Sunrise wont be complete if we din watch the Sunset as well. It was a Harrowing experience as we were running late and our tuk tuk driver brought us to another area to enter the temple grounds to see the sunset. It was quite a climb and we were rushing for time and we had to rush to come down also cos we couldn't come down after it was dark (no lights and it wasn't a proper path that we took). It was worth it but the crowd watching the sunset was way more then the sunrise.

Cambodian Sunset and his shadow

Crowd watching the sunset- Photo taken on the way down.

What else is there to do other then visiting temple ruins alot of walking and stuff u might ask. Well I decided to splurge and went on the ATV (All terrain vehicle) ride around the Siem Reap Country Side. The owner is a french chef who like Cambodia so much after a 2 yr stint in a cullinary school in Siem Reap that he decided to stay on, married a Cambodian women and brought in ATVs for visitors! It was fun, but muddy one stretch and our shoes were covered in mud and even our clothes were "stained" but the dust. Did the laundry immediately after and it was RED! But fun.

Me on the ATV

Him and the owner's little boy- This little boy looked Cambodian like the mom but his younger sister (Baby) had the Caucasian features of the dad!

The other place that we visited was a Land Mine Museum. It was really quiet and serene there and they showed pictures of the different artillary shells and landmines that they used. The place was also a santuary for people who are miamed by the landmines that were still around after so many years. Kinda made me appreciate living in Singapore where it's relatively safe and modern.

Me Sitting on a stool whose legs are made from dearmed shells

All in all it was a short but good trip. Shopping was decent too, some of the things like bags and scarves were cheaper than bangkok. I might visit the place again, but I guess not in the very near future for there is so much more out there to see and do!!

after a very long time i finally had a decent conversation with A on msn last night... i had always been bewildered by his sudden withdrawal when things between us seem to be progressing at a good speed... he never really gave an explaination and kinda just took the easy way out by withdrawing his frenship also..

The thing that sparked the conversation was his MSN nick.. something along the lines of "mind and soul have moved on but body still left behind." so i asked him what was the matter.. and he was saying that he wanted to move on to the next phase in his life which i naturally assumed to be marriage.. but had yet to find the right gal..

So i asked what were his requirements for a life mate.. he said 4Cs.. "Chemistry, Communication, Character and Commitment.." to which i said commitment had to come from him as it's easier for a girl to commit into a relationship that a guy.. (problem kinda currently facing)

Then we started to talk abt what happened between us and i asked him why the sudden withdrawal. His response to that was he felt we were getting too close too fast. He din want to jump into a relationship without fully understanding the person.. and he wanted to go into a relationship KNOWING it will work rather that making it work.. and reason he din tell me about it was he was afraid that i wouldn't understand or be able to take it.. to get a justification that it wasn't my fault or anything that I did to make him retract i ask him if he liked me at that point to which he said yes. At least it wasn't something I did.. just his inability to commit or to "venture" into the unknown..

He apologised for not handling the situation better.. as it talking things out with me rather than to suddenly retract although i guess to a certain extend it would have been hard to move backwards in the relationship..

Is it wrong to think that in every relationship when we enter it, there is always a risk that we have to take that it will not work out? or is it true that by truely understanding each other as a fren and progressing beyond just a simple frenship is a more sure-fire way to ensure that a relationship will bear better outcomes? I dun know.. i've been through both ways but cant really say which is better.. guess it'll truely depend on the parties involved.

I'm glad we had the air cleared up.. cos it did bug me quite abit at the begining... he's a great guy and we had our fun times, guess it was not meant to be. and maybe a frenship can result? haha.. but at least now i know...

This is kinda an over-dued post... better post something with pics lest some ppl say that I've been neglecting my blog! haha..

Went to Krabi over a weekend 20Apr to 23Apr. It was a weekend that was booked a long time ago but cos of the "bickering" that has been happening wasn't sure if it was going to be that great an idea. Turns out it wasn't a great a trip as it shd have.. there was still tension which the trip din quite resolve..

Day 1
It was the first trip to the budget terminal.. the interior wasnt too bad but the passageway kinda looked like a hospital walkway.

We tried to take a photo of the Gate Number but my skills weren't too good.
It was Gate 8

After arriving we checked into our hotel - "Alis Hotel" It's a boutique hotel with 34 rooms. Only problem was that there wasn't any lifts and our room was on the 3rd floor. Fortunately there wasn't much luggage so going up wasn't much of a problem.

View of Hotel by nite

Room

We stayed along one of the main beaches in Krabi, Aonang, walking along the beach we caught a sight of ppl boarding the long tail boats to take them out to sea for a evening trip... but to me it kinda looked like illegal immigrants.. haha.. minus the fact that they are walking out to sea not coming towards shore...

Had seafood dinner in the first nite, it was a restuarant that he went to the previous trip with his frens "Ao Nang Seafood" food wasn't that great. A tad overpriced. for a whole fish, lala, 4 tiger prawns, a Chang Beer and a fresh coconut, the meal cost abt 900Baht not really worth it.

Me sitting by the restaurant

Day 2
We decided to book a day trip out to sea, it was a 5 island tour with Kayaking ard Hong Island. The kayaking was tiring but the view of the limestone caves and cliffs up close was good. The beaches there weren't that fantastic, i kinda like the white sandy beaches.. the water was not as clear either. had sediments in the water... (Although it does look clear from the top.) I kinda still like Redang abit more at this pt.

Long Tail boat -decided to take the long Tail instead of the speed boat cos the cost was almost halved!!

Kayaking

A lagoon where we stopped for a "swim"

Feeding the Fishes - water looks crystal clear from the top but when you submerge in it, you'll see alot of sediments...

It was a good thing that we came back to shore when we did cos it started to rain in the evening as we were going out for dinner..

Day 3
He went for an elephant trek in the morning while i lazed ard by the hotel pool. Wanted to walk to the beach to laze ard but the beach was like hard and not the soft white sand so i gave up the idea and went back to the hotel instead and lounged by the inifinty pool..

In the afternoon we decided to rent a car and go driving ard the town area (kinda ended up in a disagreement later on.) It was a 1.3L mannual suzuki jeep, cost us 1100Baht for a 24hr rental and we could drive ourselves to the airport the next day. It wasn't easy to drive the car, maybe cos i wasn't realy used to it.. but it was fun. Turns out I'm a better navigator then him although he's the better driver.. haha.. We visited a couple of local markets and a temple and had dinner at Krabi town.

A very long flight of steps
This was at the tiger caves in Krabi. This flight of steps had 1238 steps. wasn't crazy enuff to climb the steps though. hahaa...

A local Market where we stopped to take a look.. it was kinda like a Kampong and they were selling everything from fresh food to cooked food and even clothes.. we bought a pancake from there.. haha kinda the only thing we dared to buy.

Local Market

Him buying the pancake!

Day 4
Did have very much time to do many things. ran out to do my nails and had a hair treatment before having a quick lunch and then going to the airport. Had a little "adventure" at the Krabi airport cos he couldn't find his passport and cos we were kinda of bickering in the morning he kinda implied that I kept his passport which I did in the begining of the trip but returned him when he went elephant treking... in the end the passport was found in one of the little pouches he had in his bag...

End of trip photo

Conclusion
Krabi's rather expensive place to be.. at least it's definately not a place for shopping.. nothing much to do but just to relax and enjoy the sun. ALOT of angmohs... Krabi town has cheaper food and it is relatively to drive ard... I had an okie time there but wished we din bicker that much on the trip... Maybe the Tsunami did have it's impact on the waters, wasnt as clear as I imagined it to be. Also there were tsunami evacuation signs all ard.. telling ppl where to go in the event of a tsunami..

End of a very long picture post! ahahah

What do Women want..

been really bugged down by the inability for the bf to understand what it is that i'm trying to tell him. he seems to only listen to the first half of the what I say forget or ignore the key point that I was trying to make.

Maybe it's like the book they have, " why women cant read maps and why men don't listen."

Then I had conversation with a dear fren and she said to me that she read somewhere that sometimes the things that girls want is so simple that men dont believe that it can be so simple.. So.. What is it that women want?

I know what I want, I want a boyfren that makes me feel impt makes me feel that i'm someone especially special and impt to him that i'm different from everything else in this world. He doesn't necessarily have to be the smartest, the most handsome, or even the richest! Just someone who loves me and makes me feel that I'm special.

I guess that even though it's a simple concept it's something that is hard to grapse because it's abstract. it's not as concrete as compatibility or ability to communicate or same inerest and outlook in life, but it's just as impt. Cos I believe that if 2 ppl who are together but cant make the other person feel that they are the love of their lives when they eventually get married, they might be staying together out of obligation or responsibility to the marriage.

Maybe i'm still rather idealistic in these sort of expectations, but I guess to each their own when it comes to this sort of things. Some ppl are just looking for companionship but i'm looking for a partnership. Someone that I can make decisions with and and plan a life together.

I just hope that he can understand that.....

I was asked by Zynn to blog more and with pictures too so I'm going to try to do so! haha

We finally made our long awaited BKK/overseas trip last weekend. Unfortunately it was 1 person short from our original gang :( [it's okie zynn we'll make another trip with you definate] but it was still good (with the addition of the latest addition to our gang.. by virture of association! haha but let me let the pictures do the talking. :) Photos are not really in chronological order though.

The 4 of us at Changi Airport terminal 1 waiting for our Thai Air Asia Flight. This was the only bad part of the trip cos our flight was delayed for 2hours and we only managed to get into our hotel at 1am in the morning!! but flight was okie and best part was that it was cheap so oh wel..

This was part of the original gang of 3 that was suppose to make the trip.. so zynn you must come back soon so that we can make it our gang of 4!! Second one is of me and june.

Us in the room, it was really comfy and the location of the hotel was good. The second photo was take from the sky train station platform and u can see that it's just right beside the hotel. In fact the hotel actually has a overhead bridge that links it to the skytrain station!

Bottled Soft drink

Pictures of the food that we ate and stuff. Roadside Padthai right next to our hotel was really good and so was the food at the weekend market. YUM!!! Miss the food already

But not that i could stomach everything. there were things like this that seem to be raw!! saw it at chinatown but couldn't really imagine eating. The raw mangoes that we ate were good though! haha..

Picture of a Ferris wheel at Suan Lom, din go on it though. but would have been nice to try.

The most impt pic.. as the title of the entry suggest, the Reason why we went! hahaha

Cant wait for the next trip though! haha

It seems that these past few days there are alot of young ppl dying.. alot of them just dropping dead without any obvious cause. It's scary how ppl just leave this world without any signs. We shd cherish what we have and live each day as if it could be our last.. and never fail to tell the ppl that we love, we love them, no reason to keep it inside of us.
There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she's blind.

She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He's always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she can see everything, including her boyfriend.

Her boyfriend asked her, "now that you can see the world, will you marry me?"
The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to marry him.
Her boyfriend walked away in tears.
He later wrote a letter to her saying, "Just take care of my eyes dear."
This is how human brain changes when the status changed.
Only few remember what life was before, and who's always been there even in the most painful situations.

Just took this test off from June. This it's try to a certain extent!

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.

Your views on education:

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

Greetings from the United States

As most of you would know, I'm currently on a 2 week business trip to the US. Started on the 4th of June and I'll only be back on the 21st!

Started out my journey ard the states in New York city, a city that never sleeps. It never fails to wow and excite me whenever I'm in this city, Times square, how it is truly a comopolitan city, with the various mix and mesh of ppl, from the super upclass (think fifth ave) and the slumps. You just have to walk perhaps 10 blocks in any direction of times Square and you'll be amazed at the diversity of the city and the people that roam the streets!

Times Square area is relatively safe, where you can walk the streets at like 2am in the morning and there will still be people walking ard. That's provided you stay on the main roads and not walk into some little alley way, that i wont be able to promise your safety!

My company for the first leg of my trip is Desmond (my colleague who will be my companion for the whole trip) and Simon and a girl name Audrey. Simon kinda made it a little uncomfortable by being super attentive and looking out for me throughout the trip. I mean I know of his intentions and he knows my status. Maybe it doesn't mean very much too him and i'm just reading too much into his actions but i just cant help but feel uncomfortable when he showers me with TOO much attention like constantly asking me if i was hungry and if i was okie etc. Oh well at least he's gone back to Singapore liao. hhaha.

I was kinda the tour guide for them while we were in NYC, even though i've only been there once before in the previous year but the organised streets of NYC made it easy to navigate ard the area. did abit of shopping, trying not to think too much about spending and just buy things that i think are worth my money and that i prob wont be able to get at a similiar price in SIngapore. hahah. Shall tighten my purse strings when i get back to SIngapore.

I love NYC, the energy of the city. it's a place that i'll like to stay for a short period of time but in the long run i think the city will just drain me. haha. oh well time to sign off and begin my 3hr drive to Boston! cheerios!

Write 20 random facts about yourself then tag the same amount of people as minutes it took you to write these facts.

1. My name has hardly even been pronounced the right way when ppl look at the hanyupinyin. It always ends up being distorted.

2. My dream job is to be a 大堂经理 in a up-class hotel.

3. Even though I like the outdoors, I'm quite particular when it comes to cleanilness. So as much as I like having picnics ourdoors, I can never just sit on the grass. I must make sure there is something between me and the grass.

4. I love travelling and I love the sights and sounds of a foreign place although I dont have the desire to stay overseas for prolong periods of time.

5. I make frens really easily, but now I'm more selective of whom I get close to.

6. I love all food hot and spicy although I have a gastric problem which means I shouldn't antagonise my stomach with things like tom yum soup! But I love it all the same

7. I enjoy cooking for ppl and seeing ppl enjoy the food that I cook, but I hate washing up after cooking's done.

8. My dream vacation place is some where with the sun the sand and the sea and a person that means the world to me.

9. I like to shower before I go to bed so that I'm nice and clean when and warm when I go to bed.

10. To me, it's not the number of hours that I sleep, I naturally will get awake when the room becomes bright. ie, if I want to sleep past 9am, I have to make sure that the room remains dark if not I'll just wake up even if I've only had 4 hours of sleep.

11. I'm really enjoying dance class it's something that I should have started picking up a long time ago.

12. I have a bad habit of picking something up and giving up after about 2 yrs. Like Japanese Language, guitar lessons.

13. I'm not comfortable with public display of affection. (I can take the holding hands and hugging but not the making out or being very affectionate in the company of frens)

14. I used to dislike cheese cake, but I think I've become a convert!

15. I never wanted to be a sales person cos I din want to be stressed out by sales target etc. (oh well but look what job I'm in now! )

16. I really don't know how to use livejournal. (how do you tag ppl and change the fonts and add pics??)

17. Every once in a while I go into one of my "I want to be in a relationship" phase.

18. I like precious moments alot, but dont have a place at home where I can display them. Maybe next time.

19. I'm rather stingy when it comes to spending money on things like clothes and bags and stuff. Still very much shopping like a student even though I've been working for almost a year. But I'm willing to spend on food and gifts for close frens.

20. Unlike most girls, I dun multi-task very well. I cant watch TV and use the phone or computer at the same time I can only concentrate on one thing at a go.

There completed.
This is an entry that I can't possibly blog on my usual add cos the ppl in question have access to that blog so I kinda have to resort to blogger here.. maybe it's time to migrate.. to migrate all my entries and set up a new blog.. going to be a hassel to inform ppl but at the same time it may give me more privacy to blog about my tots.. instead of being restricted by whom i KNOW is reading my blog.. what i dun know can't hurt me.. as long as I dun slander ppl and post my honest comments, no one should fault me on it.. It's merely an avenue to vent my fustration...

It's getting really lonely in the office, all my frens have left one by one, there are no longer any "frens" in the office.. i mean i can get along with most of my colleagues, don't get me wrong.. it's just different when a fren who is working in the same office as you and a colleague who is a fren.. the feeling and the relationship is different.. at least it's different to be.. cos the second type is slightly more superficial.. a little more than an aqquaintance.. but not quite a fren.. not sure if i'm making any sense in saying this...

sometimes it gets really boring to sit in the office with a grumpy colleague next to you... someone who use to be able to joke ard and chat.. but somehow after she has tendered her attitude towards alot of things seems different.. maybe I'm just being sensitive and overeacting... but this is my observation and my understanding.. sigh.. help..
